YEC PROGRAMS

1.  Workshop – DESIGNS SPARK

 Join us for a glimpse into the hands-on workshop "A Walk Through into the World of Designing." conducted by The Department of Computer Applications.The session began with insights on the importance of design by the HoD Mrs.SeethaLakshmi R, followed by an engaging presentation by Fidha Rinshi KT of 2nd year BCA, with support from Unaisa Swafva V and Mohammed Safwan M od 2nd year BCA . The workshop concluded with a lively feedback session, reflecting the participants' enthusiasm and learning.The entire program was controlled by the club coordinator's Ms.Varna K and Ms.Murshida C.

 2.WORKSHOP ON BEYOND BCA: CAREER PATHS AND HIGHER EDUCATION

Join us for a glimpse into the hands-on workshop The Bachelor of Computer Applications BCA is a popular undergraduate degree that focuses on computer science, programming, and information technology conducted by The Department of Computer Applications.The session began with insights on the importance of design by the HoD Mrs.SeethaLakshmi R, followed by an engaging presentation by Navalu Rahman and Vivek  of 3rd year BCA, After completing a BCA degree, students have a wide range of career opportunities in both the private and public sectors. With the rapid growth of the IT industry and digital transformation across all fields, BCA graduates are in high demand. Choosing the right career path after BCA is important for long-term professional growth and job satisfaction.The scope of BCA in the IT industry is very broad. Almost every organization today depends on computers, software, and digital systems for its operations.

3. Workshop  – DIGITECT

Introduction: DIGITECT-Cyber Crime & Cyber Laws An Engaging Awareness Session The Department of Computer Applications organized an insightful session on Cyber Crime and Cyber Laws for the second-year BCA students. The presentation was delivered by Hanoona and Mohammed Ashiq of second-year BCA, who effectively highlighted the importance of cyber safety in today’s digital world. Adding an interactive twist, the session included cyber detective games that made learning both fun and memorable. The event was smoothly coordinated by the club coordinator, Ms. Murshida C, ensuring a successful and impactful experience for all participants.

4. DESIGNING THE WEB WITH HTML

Join us for a glimpse into the hands-on workshop "Designing with HTML" conducted by The Department of Computer Applications.The session began with importance HTML tags and Designing by the HoD Mrs.SeethaLakshmi R, followed by an engaging presentation by Nasiha and Swabeeh of 2nd year BCA, The workshop concluded with a lively feedback session, reflecting the participants' enthusiasm and learning.The entire program was controlled by the club coordinator's Ms.Varna K and Ms.Murshida C.

5. WORKSHOP : WEBSITES THE DIGITAL IDENTITY OF TOMORROW

The Department of Computer Applications at Grace Valley College of Arts & Science organized an engaging learning foundation session on “Websites: The Digital Identity of Tomorrow” on 20th August 2025 at the Computer Lab.The session was inaugurated with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Seetha Lakshmi R, Head of the Department of Computer Applications.Our talented 2nd year BCA students, Muhammad Arshak and Sinu Nafida, led the session with insightful presentations. They highlighted the growing importance of websites as the foundation of digital presence and identity in the modern world. The speakers explored how websites go beyond being just online pages, evolving into vital tools for personal branding, business visibility, and professional credibility.The program concluded with meaningful remarks from Ms. Murshida C, Assistant Professor and Club Coordinator, who emphasized the need for students to continuously upgrade their digital skills.The event received an excellent response, reflecting the enthusiasm of students to learn about the digital trends shaping tomorrow’s world.

INNOVISTA PROGRAMS

  1. Hands-on-IoT: Code, Connect, Create

    workshop on the Internet of Things (IoT), organized by the Department of Computer Applications for final year BCA students. The session began with a warm welcome by the HoD Mrs.SeethaLakshmi R, setting the tone for an insightful journey into smart technology. The workshop introduced students to the fundamentals and real-world applications of IoT, sparking curiosity and innovation.

                           The Internet of Things (IoT) is revolutionizing industries by connecting devices, sensors, and applications to exchange and analyse data. As the demand for IoT solutions grows, it is essential for developers and project managers to have a strong understanding of IoT development and project orientation. This workshop aims to provide comprehensive insights into IoT development and equip participants with the necessary skills to successfully implement IoT projects.

                         The workshop received positive feedback, with Ms. Nafia sharing how the session deepened her understanding of smart technologies, and Mr. Mohammed Sinan appreciating the hands-on approach that made complex concepts easier to grasp. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from the club coordinator Ms. Varna K, marking the end of a truly enlightening experience.

 2. BYTE BATTLE IT -QUIZ

The Department of Computer Applications proudly presents highlights from the Interdepartmental Digital IT Quiz, a vibrant event that tested students' tech knowledge across disciplines. The event began with a warm welcome by Ms. Varna K, Assistant Professor of Computer Applications and INNOVISTA Club Coordinator, who was organized by the final-year BCA students under the leadership of Mohammed Sinan and Muhammed Ameen. Additionally, BCA students provided valuable support in organizing the event smoothly.

       With 26 dynamic teams from various departments, the quiz showcased enthusiastic participation and digital brilliance. The focus on digital quizzing added a modern, engaging twist to the traditional format, making it a truly tech-driven learning experience. The quiz was divided into three challenging rounds, each designed to test a different aspect of IT knowledge. The questions spanned a comprehensive range of modern IT domains, including Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), etc. True to its name, the quiz leveraged a dedicated digital quizzing platform for real-time scoring and submission. Teams used their own devices (smartphones) to submit answers, allowing for instantaneous result display and maintaining a high level of transparency and engagement throughout the event. This seamless integration of technology was key to the event's success."

 3. READING DAY

Reading Day was conducted on June 19th at the Library, Grace Valley College of Arts and Science, Maravattam.The programme was organized by the Department of BCA, and the participants were Second Year BCA students. The library provided a calm and suitable environment for reading and academic engagement.The session was conducted successfully, and the students actively participated by utilizing the library resources effectively.

 

 4. SOFT SKILLS AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT

"Turning potential into power – one skill at a time!"

The Department of Computer Applications and the Department of Computer Science at Grace Valley College of Arts & Science, Maravattam, organized a Soft Skill and Career Development session for first-year BCA and BSc CS students on August 8th, 2025. The inspiring session was led by Mrs. Seetha Lakshmi R, Head of the Department of Computer Applications, who shared valuable insights on essential soft skills and strategies for career growth with activities.The program was conducted to bring out the importance of soft skills and the platforms were, they can practice such skills. The difference between talking and communicating was brought out by a small activity.After the session students gave their feedbacks about the program. The program winded up with the vote of thanks by Ms. Rekha, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science.The program, held from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, aimed to empower students with the tools to excel both academically and professionally.
