FOOTBALL FANS SHOW
On the 14th of June, Grace Valley College of Arts & Science hosted an exhilarating Euro Copa Fans Show, organized by the Department of Physical Education in collaboration with the Baahar College Union. The event took place from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM and was a remarkable display of college spirit and football fandom. The program, put together by enthusiastic college students, captivated the audience with its energy and creativity. The highlight of the show was a vibrant performance featuring the Nasik Dhol, which brought an electrifying atmosphere to the venue. The rhythmic beats of the drums and the enthusiastic cheer of the students created an ambiance of excitement and unity, reminiscent of the fervor found in football stadiums during major tournaments.Read more
INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATION
The International Yoga Day Celebration, organized by the Health and Yoga Club, a department-level initiative of the Department of Physical Education, in collaboration with NSS Grace Valley, was held on June 21, 2024, at Grace Valley College of Arts and Science, Maravattam, Kadampuzha. The event underscored the importance of physical and mental well-being through yoga, highlighting the pivotal role played by the Department of Physical Education in promoting a healthy lifestyle. The program began with a welcome speech by Mr. Muneer, NSS Programme Officer, followed by the inaugural address delivered by Dr. C.P. Ayoob Keyi, Principal of Grace Valley College. Awareness and live yoga demonstrations were skillfully led by Mr. Safwan, Head of the Department of Physical Education, who emphasized the significance of yoga in achieving holistic wellness. HEALTH AWARENESS PROGRAM
On June 21, 2024, the Department of Physical Education at Grace Valley College of Arts and Science, Maravattam, conducted a Health Awareness Program on "Physical Activity and Wellness" as part of their extension activities. Held at Grace Valley Professional Academy from 4:30 to 6:00 PM, the program saw the participation of 50 students. Led by Muhammed Safwan, Head of the Department of Physical Education, the session emphasized the importance of regular physical activity for overall health. Discussed the benefits of exercise, including improved cardiovascular health, enhanced mental well-being, and better weight management. The program featured interactive discussions and practical demonstrations, offering students actionable insights and tips.Read more
SUPER PASS KERALA
The Super Pass Kerala event “ഒറ്റക്കെട്ടായി പന്ത് തട്ടാാം “was successfully conducted at Grace Valley College of Arts and Science on August 23 as part of the promotion for Super League Kerala – Season 1. The event aimed to generate excitement around football and encourage student participation in sports. The program featured a variety of engaging activities, including a flash mob, a penalty shootout competition, and a sports quiz. These events attracted a large number of students, fostering enthusiasm and team spirit. The highlight of the event was the penalty shootout competition, where participants showcased their football skills. The sports quiz tested students' knowledge of football and general sports-related topics.Read more
NATIONAL SPORTS DAY CELEBRATION
The Department of Physical Education at Grace Valley College of Arts and Science, Maravattam, celebrated National Sports Day on 29th August 2024 with enthusiasm and active participation from students. The event featured two competitions: A Sports Quiz and a Skipping Rope Challenge. The Sports Quiz saw participation from 20 students, with Hashim Hakeem and Hamad Hamdan from 1ST Semester BSc Chemistry securing 1st place, followed by Mohammed Irfan and Shana Mol from 5th Semester BSc Psychology in 2nd place. The Skipping Rope Challenge included seven participants, where Fathima Sana P.T. from 1st Semester BCA clinched 1st place, and Farsana Farvi from 5th Semester BSc Psychology secured 2nd place.Read more
INTER DEPARTMENT VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT 2024-25
The Department of Physical Education at Grace Valley College of Arts & Science successfully organized an Inter-Department Volleyball Tournament on 30th August 2024, from 3:15 PM to 5:30 PM. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from five departments: Commerce CA, Management, Science, English, and Economics. The tournament, led by Mr. Muhammed Safwan, Head of the Department of Physical Education, showcased the spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship among the participants. After a series of thrilling matches, the Commerce CA department emerged as the champions, while the Science department secured the runner-up position.Read more
VOLLEYBALL COACHING CAMP 2024-25
TThe Department of Physical Education, Grace Valley College of Arts & Science, Maravattam, successfully organized a Volleyball Coaching Camp for the academic year 2024-25. The camp was held from 23rd September 2024 to 23rd October 2024 at the College Volleyball Court, with daily sessions conducted from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM. More than Fifteen students actively participated in the camp, which focused on improving their volleyball skills, game tactics, and team coordination. The training sessions were designed to cover essential aspects of the game, such as serving, spiking, blocking, setting, and defensive strategies. Participants were guided by skilled coaches who emphasized individual development as well as fostering a cohesive team dynamic.Read more
PARTICIPATION IN B-ZONE VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT 2024-25
Grace Valley College of Arts and Science volleyball team participated in the University of Calicut B-Zone Volleyball Tournament 2024-25, held on 21st and 22nd October 2024 at PSMO College Tirurangadi. The team comprising 12 players, put forth an impressive performance. In the first match, they secured a victory against CPA College, Puthanathani, showcasing excellent coordination and skill. However, in the next match, they faced a tough challenge against Govt. College, Malappuram, resulting in a loss. FOOTBALL COACHING CAMP 2024-25
The Department of Physical Education, Grace Valley College of Arts & Science, Maravattam, organized a highly successful Football Coaching Camp for the academic year 2024-25. The camp was conducted from 19th August 2024 to 19th October 2024 at the Grace Valley Public School Ground. Sessions were held daily, with morning timings from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and evening sessions from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM Alternatively. A total of 33 students participated enthusiastically in the camp, which aimed to enhance their football skills, teamwork, and strategic understanding of the game. Under the guidance of experienced coaches, participants were trained in various technical and tactical aspects of football, including ball control, passing, shooting, defensive strategies, and match fitness.Read more
PARTICIPATION IN B-ZONE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT 2024-25
Grace Valley College of Arts and Science proudly participated in the University of Calicut B-Zone Football Tournament 2024-25, held at SS College, Areekode. A dedicated team of 22 players represented the college with exceptional commitment and sportsmanship. The tournament began with a thrilling match against PTM Govt. College, Perinthalmanna, where the team secured victory through a tense tiebreaker. Building on this momentum, they delivered an outstanding performance against CUIET Kohinoor, winning the match with a remarkable five-goal margin. CRICKET COACHING CAMP 2024-25
The Department of Physical Education at Grace Valley College of Arts and Science, Maravattam, successfully conducted the Cricket Coaching Camp 2024-25 from October 17, 2024, to November 7, 2024. The camp was held daily from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the college ground and witnessed the participation of more than 15 students who were eager to enhance their cricketing skills. The camp was led by Muhammed Safwan PK, Head of the Department of Physical Education, who provided structured training sessions focusing on batting, bowling, fielding, and overall fitness. Special emphasis was given to techniques, strategies, teamwork, and match awareness. Participants were trained through drills, net practice, and simulated match situations, which helped them understand the nuances of the game better.Read more
VOLLEYBALL PROMISING CAMP
As part of the extension activities of the Department of Physical Education & Sports, a one-week Volleyball Coaching Camp was conducted at Grace Valley College of Arts & Science from November 11 to November 18, 2024. The camp aimed to enhance the volleyball skills of young school students within the college’s locality. A total of 13 students participated in the program, receiving systematic training in fundamental volleyball techniques, game strategies, fitness drills, and teamwork. The sessions were conducted by experienced coaches, ensuring a professional learning environment. Throughout the week, participants showed significant improvement in their skills, teamwork, and overall confidence in the game. ANNUAL SPRTS MEET 2024-25
The Annual Sports Meet of Grace Valley College of Arts & Science “AURA 2K25” was successfully conducted from February 3rd to 6th, 2025, under the Department of Physical Education and DHEEKSHA college union. The event aimed to encourage sportsmanship, teamwork, and competitive spirit among students. The grand opening ceremony took place on February 3rd at 1:30 PM, where the team name revealing ceremony was conducted by Dr. M Usman, Principal, Four teams—Trafford, Anfield, Bernabeu, and Camp Nou competed in various sports events. The boys participated in football, volleyball, and tug of war, while the girls competed in throwball, handball, and tug of war. The matches were filled with energy and determination, showcasing the talents of the students.On February 6th, 2025, the Annual Athletic Meet was held, featuring 10+ track and field events, including sprints, long-distance races, relay races, long jump, shot put, and more. The athletic meet was inaugurated by Mr. Faizal Wafy, Manager of Grace Valley Institution. Grace Valley College of Arts and Science proudly participated in the University of Calicut Inter Zone Best Physique Competition 2024-25, held at Sree Krishna College, Guruvayoor. Representing the college in the 70 kg category, Muhammed Faris P showcased exceptional physique and dedication. His performance reflected the rigorous training and commitment upheld by Grace Valley. Competing against strong contenders, he demonstrated remarkable confidence and strength. The event highlighted the college’s emphasis on fitness and sports excellence. The Farewell Match for the Grace Valley College Football Team, held on 20 March 2025, was a memorable event organized by the Department of Physical Education & Sports to honor the outgoing players for their dedication and contributions. The event began with a welcome speech, followed by an exciting football match between the senior and junior players, showcasing remarkable sportsmanship and teamwork.
